Experimental Physicist - Low Temperature Plasma
Hexium
Job Description
We are seeking an experimental physicist who has experience working with low temperature plasmas. The ideal candidate would have direct experience designing/building scientific hardware for example a plasma diagnostic system or other equipment for a low temperature plasma experiment.
In this role, you will be instrumental in building our first technology demonstration project. You will be in charge of designing systems for a low temperature plasma device and running experiments and models to understand its operation. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to achieve the company’s technical milestones.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design, operation and troubleshooting of a low-temperature plasma device.
- Run experiments and simulations to understand the operation of the device.
- Operate and troubleshoot various particle analyzers such as time-of-flight mass spectrometers and hot wire ionization gauges.
- Collaborate with a small multidisciplinary team of engineers and scientists to integrate above mentioned systems into the larger prototype device.
- Maintain a safe and efficient laboratory environment.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Physics, Surface Science, Mechanical Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Strong experimental background working with low temperature plasma.
- Experience developing scientific hardware (e.g. a plasma diagnostic system, or other equipment for a low temperature plasma experiment/device)
