At Drift Net , our mission is to create and provide the most innovative technical solutions to keep communities safe— disrupting not only the world security but also of artificial intelligence based technology.

With the KnowWhere Safety System, schools, businesses, and individuals can be better prepared to identify any threats early, respond to them immediately, and have the actionable information they need to make smart decisions in a crisis. We are a fast paced start-up that is growing quickly and we are looking for the best talent to help us achieve our mission!

What You'll Do

  • Develop electronics design and perform analysis at the Circuit Card and Unit level
  • Work from engineering concept to final drawings to create electrical drawings for PCBs/PWBs – design, parts placement, routing, dimensioning/tolerancing, and drawing generation
  • Perform schematics capture, Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design and layout with Mentor Graphics or other PCB design software
  • Develop and design PCB layouts, considering factors such as size, shape, component placement, signal integrity, and manufacturability. Utilize PCB design software (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro) to create schematics, layout designs, and generate manufacturing files (Gerber files).
  • Establish and document complete PCB/PWB specifications. (Need to have good understanding of PCB/PWB fabrication processes and industry standards such as those from IPC)
  • Provide technical expertise in selection of PCB/PWB materials and technologies
  • Provide technical oversight of PCB/PWB supplier selection, verification, and continuous improvement efforts
  • Execute PCB design and PCB assembly verification, debug, troubleshooting and repair
  • Design for Manufacturability (DFM) utilization at PCB design and layout
  • Service and support the entire life cycle from requirements derivation through design/development and test up to and beyond manufacture and delivery of hardware
  • Perform thorough design reviews and design rule checks (DRC) to verify the integrity and compliance of PCB designs with industry standards and specifications. Identify and address any potential risks or issues that may impact product quality or performance.
  • Analyze and translate requirements into box architecture and hardware designs
  • Test and validate hardware to ensure designs meet operational and functional requirements
  • Develop custom electronic design of functional test hardware
  • Create schematic diagrams and component footprints using CAD software ) e.g. Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro)

Qualifications

  • Minimum AA Degree in electrical or electronic engineering (or similar field)
  • 3+ years of PCB design experience
  • Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, and electronic hardware
  • Ability to interpret digital electronic circuit and logic diagrams
  • Good understanding of high-speed signal integrity
  • Excellent administrative, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision direction
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Electronics, Computer Science or Engineering)
  • System level hardware architecture skills
  • Background in manufacturing
  • Experience with routing DDR4, DDR6
  • Knowledge of EMI and RF shielding/routing practices
