About the position

Join our team as an Commercial Application Scientist, where your primary focus will be to gain a deep understanding of our customers' needs and objectives. In this role, you'll conduct on-site assays at Reshape to replicate and mimic various experiments. Your findings will be translated into application notes, case-studies, and scientific articles, all aimed at enhancing the external documentation of Reshape.
Moreover, you'll play a pivotal role in expediting the sales process by supporting the sales team directly on technical- and application-related customer calls. As the Commercial Application Scientist, you will bridge the gap between existing application notes and customer requests, discussing how our technology can create value specifically for customers in collaboration with our account executives.
Your written work, including application notes and case studies, will be featured on our website and in other marketing material. Collaborating closely with the marketing lead, you will plan and execute these releases as part of our marketing strategy. The content will have both scientific and commercial relevance.
You will be in charge of scoping and planning certain high-value customer implementations, making sure they’re successful in collaboration with the sales and data science teams at Reshape.
The Commercial Application Scientist will refer to Magnus, Co-Founder & CRO, and be contributing directly to the overall commercial success of Reshape.

The role will entail:

Authoring scientifically and commercially relevant material in collaboration with marketing and sales
Planning, executing and documenting experiments in our in-house laboratory
Participating in the sales process as a technical sparring partner for our sales team and for the external customer
Take lead on structured and high-value customer implementations in collaboration with the sales and data science team
Providing feedback to the product teams and serving as an internal customer for new product development

An ideal candidate might:

Have a Phd or masters degree in biotechnology, food science, microbiology or similar
Have 3+ years of experience working in food/ingredients, agriculture or similar in a research and development role
Have relevant experience or interest in commercial roles such as marketing and/or sales
Be interested in joining a fast-growing startup where you can have a huge impact, working in an informal setting with a straight-forward communication style
We’re not sticklers for candidates meeting all requirements, and prefer hiring candidates punching a bit above their weight. We’re looking for exceptional individuals who have accomplished great things in the past, and even more importantly, we are looking for ambitious people that share our vision of the future.

What we offer

About the hiring process

The hiring process at Reshape is usually divided up into 4 steps:
First interview is all about learning about each other. We want to give you a deep background on Reshape, what we stand for and where we want to take the company, and we want to learn about who you are and what you stand for as a person.
The second interview is focused on diving deeper into the technical parts of your future role, learning deeply about your experience in you respective field and where you want to go as a person.
The third interview is a meet & greet with the team. We care a lot about our culture and want to take great care of it. We’ll invite you in for an afternoon to meet the current team in a relaxed setting to give you the opportunity to see what it is like to work at Reshape.
If an offer is extended, we will talk through and clarify any doubts or questions. Often this is a phone call at the end, or we’ll invite you in to discuss if necessary.
For certain hires, we may adjust the process a little bit, but we will make sure to cover the topics so all parties feel comfortable about making a final decision.
Send a link to your LinkedIn profile or a resumé, along with either an application letter, portfolio or an interesting project you’ve built. We check every resumé as they come, and evaluate all applicants on an ongoing basis.
